Celebrating the incomparable songbook of New Zealand music
‘Covered’ brings together a range of much loved local artists to tear the
roof off at the Kings Arms Tavern and perform covers of their favourite
homegrown classics.
Each artist will play 2–3 cover songs along with one of their original
hits. We're personally super excited to see Tami Neilson do
her thing!
It should be a great night for all involved!

Mumford & Sons have broken their agonizingly long
silence and have announced a new album, titled ‘Wilder
Mind’. In an extremely unexpected move, the new album sees the
band wandering away from certain signature elements like the banjo, acoustic
strumming & stomping kick drum.
In place of these Mumford & Sons have evolved their sound to incorporate
guitars, synths, spacey mellotrons and even some drum machines. “We felt
that doing the same thing, or the same instrumentation again, just wasn't for
us” says frontman Marcus Mumford.
"Towards the end of the Babel tour, we’d always play new songs during
sound-checks, and none of them featured the banjo, or a kick-drum.

The Brit
awards have just wrapped up and I'm still buzzing about that epic Kanye West
debut of his much hyped track “All Day”.
Who won big at this years awards? Sam Smith & Ed Sheeran both added to
their trophy cabinets with a cool two Brits each. Taylor Swift continued her
takeover of Pop with her very first Brit award and a stellar performance. Paloma
Faith took away the much coveted “British Female Solo Artist” award, beating
out some tough competition from the likes of Ella Henderson, Fka Twigs, Lily
Allen and Jessie Ware.
