After over a million sales and still going strong, Pop's new queen Taylor
Swift has released a new music video for her track “Blank
Space” taken from her amazing new album 1989.
1989 is a touchstone; Taylor's songwriting and sonic evolution surprises
us more than ever before. Heavily keyboard and beat driven, the pop
sensibilities that have always been the hallmark of Taylor’s music now move
front and centre on 1989.
I'm going to go right ahead and say I quite enjoyed this track, along with
the majority of the album after a few listens :)

Well my fellow Rock fans, the day has finally come!
Sonic
Highways by The Foo Fighters, arguably the most anticipated
album of 2014 is in stock & shipping now.
Though not a soundtrack album by any stretch, Sonic Highways
shares its title with the Dave Grohl-directed eight-episode HBO series described
by Grohl as a love letter to the history of American music. For the album and
series, Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear
wrote and recorded one song in each of these eight cities,
delving into the local musical currents: how each region shaped these musicians
in their formative years, and in turn the impact those people had on the
cultural fabric of their hometowns.

The hugely anticipated new album, .5 The
Gray Chapter from veterans of Metal and all things heavy,
Slipknot is in stock and shipping now!
Surely as iconic as any band in the annals of rock, Slipknot
has starred on the cover of innumerable national and international publications,
from Rolling Stone, SPIN, and Alternative Press to Guitar World, Revolver, and
Billboard. What’s more, Slipknot has received myriad honors, awards, and
nominations, including a Grammy Award for “Best Metal Performance” as well
as six further Grammy nods, multiple Kerrang! Awards, Revolver Golden Gods
Awards, NME Awards, and Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards, and nods for both MTV
Video Music Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards.
I've listened to the album a few times now and am thoroughly digging the
majority of it. My favourite track right now would have to be “Custer” with
it's face melting tempo, making it utterly impossible to not bang your head in
approval. Taylor's vocals are as passionate and aggressive as ever with some of
the bands best work in years.

Legends of Rock, The Foo Fighters have released the first
single from their highly anticipated upcoming album, Sonic
Highways. “Something From Nothing” was
recorder in Chicago with producer Steve Albini and is a ferocious assault of
Grohl's signature growl and lashings of absolutely superb guitar riffs laden
throughout this monster of a track. I am definitely digging this track!

Three words for you. Treat. Yo. Self.
On the 13th of October, 2011, Tom and Donna from Parks and
Recreation brought us the day to beat all other days. Once a year they spend
the entire day treating themselves – there are no excuses not to buy anything
that you desire.
At Mighty Ape we revel in bringing you the guilty pleasure items that you
can't get from just anywhere. A few of the Gorilla's have put our heads
together and provided you with a list of items you may not have bought yet as it
just wasn't practical, you didn't want to spend the money or you couldn't find
any logical use for. We have one answer to that today – Treat
Yo Self.
