(Short Title: Professional Writing) Frank E. Keyes, Jr. wrote this book. He is a former senior editor of Northrop Grumman and published author of two other books and many essays. His book, often humorous--a rarity for a book on writing--covers primarily clarity and readability.

Author Biography:

Frank E. Keyes, Jr. is currently the senior editor and chief instructor for Intelligence, Communications, and Engineering, Inc. and the CEO of K&K Training, LLC. He has been a technical writer and editor for the US Army Intelligence Center at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He has taught effective writing to US Army lawyers and intelligence officers. The colleges and universities where he has taught writing are the University of Arizona, University of Massachusetts, Bristol Community College, University of Maryland, Central Texas College, Florida State University, Cochise College, Chapman University, and Norwich University (at the graduate school level). He has run writing workshops at Connecticut's maximum security prison. He specializes in teaching effective/technical writing to corporate employees and in assessing writing; in 1994 he gave a presentation on writing assessment to college professors at an international convention hosted by the International Society for Exploring Teaching Alternatives. He received his BA in English Literature from Susquehanna University and his MFA (PhD equivalent) in Writing from the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Keyes is a combat veteran and was an infantryman with the 2/505th Parachute Infantry Battalion.
