The tone ranges from the fanciful to the sublime, and the aim is to bring to mind a deeper, more beautiful and interconnected worldview than the pragmatic stance that we often have to adopt to survive. Ms. Mays draws from many years of study and from some of her previous books, including Uplifting Poems, Halloween Enchantment, and The Mystique of the Sea. Over the course of several decades, she has written many of the poems herself and collected other poems from the public domain. She has also added some of her recent unpublished work. Her husband, Gary Blanchard, has contributed song lyrics from his latest CD's and DVD's.
