This book is a very basic intro to gamemaker that tells you how to make a scrolling shooter. Then jumps onto another coding system that shows multiplayer functions. Not even useful for newcomers as it expects you know a fair few aspects of the gamemaker system first

This book introduces you to the complexities of network programming and communication, where the focus will be on building the game from the ground up. You will start with a brief introduction to GameMaker Studio 2 and GML coding before diving into the essential principles of game design.  Following this, you will go through an introductory section on NodeJS where you will learn how to create a server and send and receive data from it as well as integrating it with GameMaker Studio. Author Biography:

Yadu Rajiv is a game designer, developer, a curator and evangelist for independent games. In 2011, he co-founded Hashstash Studios, where he designed and developed multiple games. He teaches user experience design, game design and game development at Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore, India. He has been building and supporting game-design and development communities since 2008 and is currently working on Gamedev.
