The rotating disk stops when it makes contact. The screws are cheap and when I tried to unscrew the disk to put another one on it was extremally tight and the groves gave way to the screwdriver so there was no way to take the disk off, which had snapped because it was so brittle. The whole thing ended up in the bin. Don't waste your cash, get a Dremel.
