Battlefield 3 Limited Edition reviews

I have been an avid player of Battlefield Bad-company 2 ever since the game came out. No game ever surpassed the quality and re-playability of the multiplayer, until now! The destructible environments and realistic movement allow the player to be immersed in a full scale battle and no game is ever the same when you can tear down buildings. The team work and tactics required in battlefield 3 to succeed in the multiplayer give a fun and addictive aspect to the game. And the co-op can be played with the boys in several immersive scenarios. Until now no game could ever touch bad company 2 for its multiplayer experience and no game will ever touch battlefield 3 (until battlefield 4).

this game is a GRAPHICAL BEAST with the gameplay to match. BUT most of the games extra juicy goodies require that you have the net and without it you are going to be VERY DISAPPOINTED!! the solo campaign lacks substance as if it was a tacked on afterthought, sure the game SOUNDS amazing and its very pretty on a whole, its a point-to-point short campaign-! if your into ONLINE MULTIPLAYER this is the game, but if your looking for an OFFLINE engaging STORY with maybe some SPLIT SCREEN action with the bro's better to stick with the Call Of Duty series-!

Was very disappointed, graphics are sub par. 720p is pretty kaks for a game being called the best game of 2011

Just looks like another battlefield fps...... huge arse maps which leads to only getting 2 kills a match… if u ask me i personally think battlefield plays to slow and is easy to get board of in multiplayer… don't know about you guys but i can't wait for mw3!! :l ( COD fan! :P )

Very disappointed in BF3 very same old same old. Not enjoying it. Was hoping for something amazing with all the hype that surrounded it. Should have known better when I saw the EA logo on it.

This game is silly u camp with a sniper and if you try and run you willspend 5mins getting too were u need to be then get shoot and run all the way back, all poeple that buy this game are sheep and dont know what a good game is

This game is good, but the maps are way to big and it takes a long time to find people.

If you dont have a reliable internet connection then don't buy this game, if you play online muliplayer then this game is a must have, driving tanks, jets and snipping people from distance awesomeness!!

This game seriously must be the best FPS I have ever played. The Single Player is amazing (very like Call of Duty) with fantastic set pieces and solid gameplay, The Co-Op mode, while feeling like it didn't get much attention, is still great too. But of course, the real star is Multiplayer. This is what I came for when I preordered this game. And to describe it in one word: Epic. I can't get over how amazing it is (Jets!!). If you are an FPS fan buy this game as soon as possible. You won't regret it

BF3 has everything you could want in a FPS online shooter. Jets, tanks, humvees, attack choppers, and all the weapons you could need to counter these if you just like trooping it out by foot. Just the best BF game to date! Must play!!

Great update to the BF series. MW3 is gonna have a tough time beating it..

I have only had one issue with this game since I bought it. I don't want to turn it off. If FPS games are your sort of thing, then this really is the game for you. Everything about Battlefield 3 has blown me away.

Extremely good game. Only bring down is the server side. Mics and connection are not seamless. Hopefully fixed soon.

Okay, so people usually only buy Battlefield to go online and duke it out with other people and this is no different. The campaign is a nice, short time waster with the easiest trophies and an engaging, if not particularly riveting storyline. You'll hear plenty of people comparing it to Black Ops, which is not entirely true but these two epic franchises are always going to get that. The online is as you'd expect from an upgraded frostbite engine and DICE's genius. It hasn't changed that much from BFBC2, which I for one, am grateful as I freaking loved that game! Graphics are amazing and I am looking forward to spending way too many hours playing this!

Single Player: It's short but if you let yourself get wrapped up in it, it's a good time. The music complements the game well and leads to some really tense moments. AI is average and playing on hard can be very frustrating but play on normal and enjoy a cool story and you'll enjoy yourself.

Multiplayer: This is where Battlefield 3 shines. The biggest complaint is that the maps are too big. I think this is based on first impressions by newer players. There is a bit of a learning curve to figure out the hot spots in maps and how to deal with and drive vehicles but it the most rewarding multiplayer I have ever experienced. The maps are varied and immersive, the vehicles are very fun and there is a massive number of unlocks. All these unlocks make for a unique experience for every player with all play styles catered to. Team play is also very important and the game provides a number of gadgets to encourage and facilitate teamwork.

Finally, graphics are also very impressive though this is console so they're not as sharp as you'll see on PC gameplay and some textures are duller. Still excellent compared to other PS3 titles. The real highlight is the sound. You'll want to pick up some half decent headphones for this one. The sound is crisp, detailed and powerful and brings the makes the whole experience so much more immersive.

Definitely a must buy in my books.

I've been playing Bad Company 2 for the last year and a half, pretty much non-stop, so I was waiting with baited breathe for Battlefield 3 to come out. I played the Beta and saw the potential and I was not at all disappointed when the final release was delivered to my door at 10am on release day. This is an awesome game with amazing graphics and the ‘feel’ of the game that was developed in Bad Company 2.

There are a few things I can fault with the game but they're all to do with my abilities rather than actual faults. I liked the way Bad Company 2 weapon unlocks worked, for example, but the new way makes it more of a challenge.

I'll be playing this one non stop until Bad Company 3 or whatever else comes out in the Battlefield line next. This game is better than any of the other shooters out there, hands down.

Rambo, medic, vehicle specialist or sniper your choice all are killers but have very different playing styles. This game offers unparalleled visuals offered across all 3 platforms (PC, PS3 and Xbox) and audio that makes it all very real. I recommend this game to anyone who has even the smallest tingling to play a shooter and I challenge even the hardest of FPS veterans to game of BF3. See you on the Battlefield.

This game must be a contender for game of the year. I haven't played much of the solo campaign stuff yet, but the multiplayer is awesome, huge maps to fight your way through, lots of vehicles to use, lots of weapons upgrades as well. A step up from battlefield bad company 2. If your thinking of buying this game, don't think just get it, you won't be disappointed.

They have outdone themselves this time. Battlefield 3 is the definitive first person shooter released to date, not only does is incorporate stunning graphics with a realistic feel to every aspect of the game but it allows you to fully customize your soldier from the colour you wear into battle to the load out in a tank or helicopter. Team warfare has never been this exciting.

Really great game. Fun and amazing graphics. A shame EA took out Battlefield 1943 out but mightyape gave me a great deal.

Great graphics and sound quality. A reasonably short campaign, but being able to do it multiplayer is a good addition. As for the online play, it is everything we have come to expect from a battlefield title. Although personally I find it a little tedious to unlock the depth of variety for the pvp roles. But that may just be because I am not very skilled with pvp first person shooters on playstation.

This game is wonderful at making the player feel as though you are really in the game. The cinematics are great and make you feel as though you are really there. And the online, server browser makes it easy to find games with friends, and if you dont have any, its very easy to make them. Very fun game, very fast paced and increadibly addictive. 5 stars

Great game, lots of hours multiplayer gameplay, worth the money!

Great game with unlimited replay value. I dont know why people complain about the campaign being “generic etc etc”, i liked it…although i did play it through twice, once on easy for the fun of it and then on hard to clean up all the trophies.

Co-op mode is a bit of fun and the game really shines on multiplayer. Now that the voice chat bugs have been fixed it is awesome. Responsive controls, planes and tanks are good fun.

Ive put in around 230 hours and only just getting starting to play it less now…

Thats value for money in my book!

Loved battlefield 1, 2 and now also 3. It's fantastic to play online and the campaign isn't bad either.

The Single Player was a half decent. I thought that the story was well thought out. I only let down was playing on a PS3 and the number of controls required to use the tank successfully. I would quite like to give it 3.5/5

I havent played much of the multiplayer, But what i have played so far i am really enjoying it. I find flying the vehicles a bit difficult so i try and avoid playing in them. I would give the it a solid 4/5

My overall rating would be have to be a 4/5

I boght this game for my botfriend who was already fan of the previous one and he can't stop playing it! it's so cool! resolution, sounds and graphics are awsome!

If your a fan of the Battlefield series or FPS games then this is the game for you. With new ground-breaking graphic's and game play on the new frostbite2 engine this game brings the right amount of every gaming element into it. Endless multiplayer action and leveling up progress, there's no way your going to get tired of this.

With over 10 million copies sold world wide, this is the game of 2011 and 2012.

I went to play this game for 1 hour and played for 5 hours. If a game can do this its one of the best out there. When i played bad company 2 i didnt think that they could make it better but they made it 150 times greater. people say this game is the COD killer and i think that it is so much better than and COD game out

I can say being a personal fan of both battlefield and COD games that this is a solid game its beautiful and multiplayer as usual is great. However if you spend enough time thinking about the story u may find yourself saying “black ops-” three people that must die, interogation just seems a bit familiar (but way better than black ops) if your in it for the awesome multiplayer get it definatly if your just intending to just get it to play the story well I recomend renting it out as its short enough to finish in a night

The campaign mode of this game was great. Nice graphics, realistic sounds, great acting and us of real known actors. Unfortunately a little short, about 5 hours worth, however, seems to be the norm with these types of games these days.

Multiplayer lacking in team and squad functionality. You can get a group of friends together in a lobby before you enter a game but unfortunately you are only limited to four friends…Also once you find a game, theres no guarantee that you'll all be on the same squad or even team. You can only talk to your own squad members which isn't great particularly if you're wanting to co-ordinate with friends in another squad.

Dedicated servers are great but still struggle to find a good number of servers with space for a full squad in the Aus/NZ regions.
