Battlefield 3 Limited Edition previews

This game is amazing, I cannot believe how good it is. You know you're playing a good game when you sit down for a ‘quick go’ and end up playing it for hours, because it is just that good. BF3 combines every aspect of real war and mashes it up into one single game that none of it's competitors could ever hope to beat. The vehicle gameplay is spectacular to watch and even better to actually take part in. The atomosphere this game offers is amazing, the guns sound real, the tanks sound real, the jets sound real, and eveything looks real! The only thing better than the stunning visuals and audio is the varied and fun gameplay. The Scale of the game is huge, with maps ranging from large to freakin gigantic! But don't worry, there is always pleanty to do and shoot at. Even though the maps are big you'll always find yourself shooting an enemy or tank or capturing an objective. The maps are also very varied, one minute your moving cover to cover in the dense urban streets of Paris, nek minit you're crusing 600m above ground in a Jet on the Caspian Border. This game has something for everyone and if you are a fan of the FPS genre you can't go wrong by purchasing this game. How they will surpass Bad Company 2 is beyond me as that was already a fantastic shooter but no doubt this will improve with another immersive and engaging campaign! “Unparalleled vehicle warfare” sums this up very nicely which the CoD franchise lacks.

Potential game of the year here but more like nominee. Fans of the series and FPS players should definitely pick this up! Can't wait for November!!

I began my first person shooting on pc years ago and the COD series. Then I moved to the PS3 and recently picked up a copy of Bad Company 2 and have not played Black Ops since. I love how much more immersed you are in battle, how much more people work as a team to accomplish goals. The sheer map scale in comparison, the ability to destroy the environment and overall environment quality is fantastic. I love rocking about in a tank! COD has its place, but this is now number one on my priority list.

Surely this will have to be the culmination of everything we have loved from all the previous BC and battlefield games. Dice and EA need this to be a COD killer and i'm sure it will be, lets just hope they iron out ALL the bugs before releasing it this time as server lag and stats issues have plagued BC2 since it's release, so saying I still play it almost daily! 5 stars bring on Nov/Dec release.

They say its going to be the CoD killer! My opinion was that Bad company 2 already was! Its only May and I can already tell that with better graphics, more weapons and more vehicles this truly will be the game of the year for me. I cant wait for November.

This is the game to watch in 2011. Battlefield will have: A real, engaging story Interactive and destructive enviroments Awesome physics Diverse gameplay Game content (a game with lots of replay value) Intricate multiplayer experience My prediction is that although Modern Warfare 3 will sell more copies, Battlefield 3 will be an better game.

Battlefield 3 has been in production for 3–4 years! The CoD titles get maybe 1 year in production.. The amount of time battlefield 3 has been in production will definitely show. Im not a battlefield fan boy or a CoD fan boy they are both good games but I think this will surpass Cod titles to come.

This game is going to be awesome. If you haven't already played battlefield bad company or bad company two I suggest you play it because they are the best fps games out. I was surprised that battlefield bad company 2 didn't get a game of the year edition because it defiantly deserved it. They are much better than call of duty because u can destroy building and they are way more realistic then call of duty. Another thing that makes it better than call of duty is you can drive tanks, Jeeps, boats, and helicopters any time you want you just have to find one on the map and jump in it so no more people sending in really high kill streaks and wasting you and your team. So if you're planning on getting modern warfare 3 I suggest you dont because this game will be way better. And mighty ape has it really cheap and it comes will DLC so you should defiantly pre order it.

This game is going to improve on the faults of bad company 2. They should also make some awsome maps, vehicles and weapons. Must Buy

Finally the best 1st person shooter is coming back and when it does its going to dominate the shooting world I recomend bf2 to any 1 who hasn not played and bf series massive multiplayer modes as well i can expect bf2 but more advanced so its a game i wont need to see gamplay of before clicking the buy button(:

With the battlefield series, every time a new game is created it has its own unique thing. With battlefield 3 its like all those things put together!. I am not going to bother with modern warfare 3 this time, not with this game as another option.

Concepts do not make or break games, execution does… So, maybe you had crappy televisions and/or surround sound gear, but BFBC2's sound and graphics are simply not good… And it was no ‘game of the year’ by any stretch was it?

Cod-killer? Hmmm… I'm not a fanboy, I hope every game is good, truly… But MW2 is a metacritic top 20 all-timer and a favourite for its completeness: awesome graphics, smooth-as-butter gameplay, style, sound, spec ops and campaign and multi-player etc etc… It would be better with vehicles etc (maybe)… But even without them it is way better than BFBC2, which has a great many flaws (in my opinion) in its gameplay and design and I really didn't like it…

I also really didn't like Black Ops despite my love for MW2, so I saw the former for what it was and is… Crap Oops.

This latest one looks great from some of the previews, but, lest we forget that BFBC campaigns have occasionally being underwhelming.. So we are looking for a big improvement IMHO.. Though it definitely looks promising. So, if it begins meeting expectations I will certainly look at buying.

But, execution guys… Execution. The majority of complaints about MW2 are in regards to HOW people play it, or because people are crap and play dumb and so they look to attribute blame anywhere than at their own inadequacies or impatience, NOT because of any flaws with the game itself (bar vehicles etc – which I can take or leave and is an exclusion / a choice – albeit the odd destructible environment might be nice, it clearly compromised BFBC2 in other ways)… Lol… Like war has rules or demands you have to run around like a headless chook, hehe… Morons.

So, bring on the 2011 kick-ass releases, such as the 2× rugby games and this, for sure..... BUT – this will also coincide with MW3 and other games later this year.. And if Infinity Ward get that one (as Treyarch are poohtastic) – then it may not matter if this surpasses BFBC2 by miles… As MW2>BFBC2 and the same will apply again with version number three for each franchise.

It's a feel thing. Gamers know – MW2 is the best fps thus far (with ‘being sick of it’ not a reason for it being worse than any other)… Holistically. Actually, BFBC2 was quite awful I thought (spawn scenario nightmares anyone?? Sound of explosions etc like double happies going off on the moon, lol)… But this could be good. And I say the more great games the better, so, fingers crossed.

Don't get me started on the two rugbys – one with club, one with the rugby world cup… Lol… I'm not sure if it is freedom of choice or punishment to the wallet. But, at least we're getting them NZ 8-)

Recent trailers have proven that the only doubt about the game, the single player, will be awesome. As expected, the multiplayer is absolutely brilliant and a huge leap forward from Battlefield 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

It's time for COD to be buried.

Definitely looks like a true to heart FPS. Awesome gameplay mechanics and beautiful scenery so far. Plot looks good and is convincingly going to be one of the most looked forward to games this year.

After three years of development, the release date for the latest game in the hit franchise has been confirmed for October 25 for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. For those of you who can't wait much longer, there will be a multiplatform open beta in September. So mark your calenders and get a week off work because its going to be all on like donkey kong

Anyone else download the BETA only to find that they couldn't connect to the EA server- Lets hope the multi player doesn't have the same woes- Whats the point in releasing a BETA and not being able to play it- so much for my ‘reward’ in purchasing MOH…SUCK!!

single player campaign. well battlefield is not known for that. so the campaign was pretty average slow at some parts due to the story line. like all other fps its over in 5–6 hours. nothing spectacular that would make you want to play it again.

co-op mode my biggest problem with this is why is it online only. and only for 2 people. whats the point. it may was well be split screen. in bad company 2 onslaught mode was 4 players why the down grade. makes the mode kind of pointless with out split screen.

multiplayer – its fun lots to do and unlock. but to me it seems empty due to the limited players per game on consoles the larger maps i can run for minutes with out even spotting anyone. then being shot down by some sniper camping somewhere. and restart the huge hike from base to mcon stations. which makes it annoying when first starting out at low levels and have no unlocked scopes. everyone else spots you from miles away while i only have iron sight. which makes it a painful grind until some scopes are unlocked. and also for me it seems more laggy thank BC2.

buy this if you are after multiplayer fps and if your pc can run it get it on pc.

ps. one little thing that worries me is that the blue ray drive seems over worked trying to read the disk. i wish the ps3 version had some sort of install onto hard drive feature like the xbox have. so that its not so demanding on the blueray drive.

As stated on my early review when I played the multiplayer online (beta), I was emphasizing on how it would be lookng like on the actual game and game experience. And Indeed, it has surpassed my Expectations. Graphics wise, really impressive and gameplay is awesome! Playing it on HARDCORE MODE. Story line is EPIC! Will be enjoying this game over and over again. And, this is way to different from Battlefield Bad Company 1 and 2. I'll give it 5 Stars! Well done!

I've started the Beta multiplayer today and it's freaking awesome. Having had MOH LE I got the early access on my psn, really glad they included that feature. I can tell its going to be one of the best online first person shooters, COD is too heavily based on run and gun. I think the best thing about gaming is playing as a squad and tackling objectives as a group. Seems more realistic and its a lot more fun. Can't wait to see the full game next month!

Alot of people have moved on from Call of Duty in to Battlefield and this game will show why. Im not hating on Call of Duty it's just that their concepts are repetitive unless they come with something good for Modern Warfare 3 Battlefield will just out sell it.

People have been saying the beta release was a dissapointmen­t...... Thats because its a beta release!!!!!!!!!

The intire point is to release the game give it to the fans, fix the bugs and take on board idea's to change or make improvments seen by the players themselves,

As far as the graphics go, the beta addition didnt run the the new engine while in testing, it was running the program in its raw mode to see if all the componants have pieced together properly, I like to think I did my part by reporting all glitches I came across like it told u to do lol,

I playd beta everyday it was available with no connection problems at all, so sum of u need to get better isp lol,

I doubt it will run at 1080p. If it does then toats to EA for putting in the hours to make it tht way but I cnt imagine it will be but could be wrong.

Ppl compare BF3 to MW3, it completly diff game, there no other way to put it, I have always been a fan of the battlefield franchise because im a multiplayer kind of guy, the graphics are alot smoother and the players dont look like renderd blobs holding a stick, adn the kill streak bonus is awfull, batlefield had a strong emphasis on squad play, have a team of ur mates and bringing hell to the enemy, u cant beat BF3 as far as multiplayer goes,

Single player mode, I mean who can tell untill both games are released and reviewd and compared, (we all know they will be sigh) unless MW3 is gonna pull a BIG rabbit out of its hat this new installment of battlefield already looks like the war has been won before release date.....

I will talk in this preview about how this game will be better than its predecessors, Battlefield 2.

1st, the graphic have greatly improved from the previous battlefield games. Battlefield 3's new engine will include better animation, destruction and maps.

I like the idea that I'm actually running for my life in this game and not defying physics. The new Engine has incorporated motions from the EA free-running game ‘Mirrors Edge’, making for more realistic movements.

The new destruction system was exciting and disappointing. The new engine features better looking destruction by adding small falling debris. However, my sources at Games Con 2011 tell me the new engine DOES NOT feature complete destruction 2 .0 which is a downfall. This actually makes more sense seeing that in BFBC2, all destructible buildings were the same sprite or a similar sprite to reduce the disk space (mainly for Xbox 360's sake).

The maps look fantastic. I just want more narrow passages to ambush people =]. With BFBC2, flaking count have been easier. Personally I want a more narrow map like Paris but that's just my opinion.

2nd, jets are back. One of the main reasons I throw my control on the floor is because of Helicopter spammers. You know, those guys who steal the helicopter and just make big fat circles around with no way of shooting them down, well no more! the new ‘Caspian Border’ trailer proved that helicopters can be locked On and shoot down. Will this be the downfall of the Helicopter threat or will this be the dawn of a new threat- as long as there is more stationary AA weapons or mobile stingers then I'm happy =].

On battlefield 2 the jets were a fierce predator which were hard to shoot down. The clarity with the old battlefield 2 engine was the worst. With the new Frostbite 2 engine, I can finally see where the jets are. Hopefully, EA will have the initiative to include the Six axis controls for the jet control which I highly doubt they will do.

Overall I hope that all this in action will be as good as it seems on paper. If it is then it looks like I won't be seeing the sun for a while.
