With a perfect mix of fun and brutal combat, exploration, storyline, action-RPG levelling up, variety and great length, this is kind of the ideal game.

Honestly, there is so much content in this game, it's astounding. The authentic Japanese voice acting is great (with English subtitles), the graphics are slick, and the many cutscenes which progress the story are beautifully animated. Wouldn't change a thing.

Not many action titles are as polished and well-rounded as Yakuza 4. Basically, if you've ever liked an action game, or just want a game that will keep you entertained for ages, you'll love this game. I know I do.

It's also ideal for newcomers to the Yakuza series, as you can watch lengthy summary cutscenes of the Yakuza 1–3 game events, meaning you won't have missed a beat.

Yakuza 4 starts slowly but the action quickly intensifies. While your character begins with only basic moves. You eventually learn many powerful combos. In addition to this there are four playable characters each with their own unique fighting styles. The cut-scenes are rendered beautifully and the Japanese voice acting is top-notch. A very decent length of twenty hours makes up the main story line but the game is filled with many more side quests and curios that will keep you entertained for many more hours. I highly recommend this game for the casual gamer who enjoys movie like story-telling and fun and brutal looking fighting gameplay.

"Great Yakuza game"

Much better than Yakuza 3 which they took out the nightclub girls, Yakuza 4 is almost a complete translated version of the original JPN Ryu Ga Gotoku 4 (except for a Japanese Quiz game got left out).

Translation is not perfect, but you can understand the story and makes sense. You get to play 4 different Characters, which is good, so is not always the same guy, that you've been playing in the entire series. The police officer sub-stories which is really different from the rest of the character, but it do gets a bit repetitive after awhile

The next one in the series is Yakuza OTE, which is a zoombie turn-based-shooting game, that I bet Sega is just doing it as a trial for the market, to see how much it would sell. So before Yakuza 5 is released next year in Japan, Yakuza 4 would be the best on the market

And thanks for Mighty Ape, you now can get this for below half price~

This is my first game review. So I hope I get it right. The story was very well thought out just like the other games in the seris with the usual stores restraunts girlie bars and other details that made me a fan of these games.Playing 4 different charters took some getting used to as did the diferent fighting styles of each caractor.Saijema was the hardest to master.there are lots of little things to do but I stuck to the main story line pretty much. The fights were fast and and fluid especially the boss fights downside some of the talking scenes are a bit long and they are not able to be skipped also this is the last game in the last game in the seris
