Just one note – read carefully the description regarding the Transformers: The Movie 2 disc set – it is NOT included. The box set has Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4 (The Rebirth) and some bonus footage – the movie is, as the packaging on the first box says ‘sold separately’

For any Transformers fan there is no substitute. Complete with Megatron hyperbole and Optimus Prime's soothing vocals this collection is sure to lull any viewer back into a simpler time, before billion-dollar animation studios and Hollywood voiceovers.
Though originally a shameless plug-in for Hasbro's line of toys, Transformers was a staple of many people's childhoods containing not only exciting action but also intriguing character development, confrontations and moral lessons presented in an only slightly cringe-worthy way, more than can be said for many modern productions.
Transformers fans have been through some tough times recently with the Michael ‘Coke bottles won the Second World War for America at Peal Harbour’ Bay, a confessed ‘non-fan’ of the series tearing out any semblance of rich, developed characters (i.e. Starscream the eternal back-stabber) and suspense and replacing them with with pop-culture references, teen hormones and slapstick. This collection however allows those intruding nightmares to be expunged thanks to the still-memorable halycon days of the concept.
Holding this set back from having the ‘Excellent’ rating however is the lack of the movie. Despite the frequent animation errors seen in the entire Transformers series the voice-acting in the Transformers movie is still some of the best of any animated movie and it's exclusion leaves a gap in the original story arc.
Overall though, a must for the DVD collection of anyone who refuses to grow up (or at least covers it by saying they appreciate it for the cultural value).
Definitely a must have for old school original Transformers fans of the 80's. And oh my the music! haha.
This is exactly what it says it is – all the old gang(no real special features or added stuff) and a few of the new… It includes the entire Optimus Prime story and then the Rodimus Prime follow ons. Good back history episodes, good quality depictions and all the old sights and sounds. Buy it, watch it, only tell your closest friends about it…
It's good to find a series of your childhood cartoons and remember the good old days. Very happy with the product and service.
