Good movie with top special effects. Awesome in bluray with surround sound.
A great movie but not the best
Got this triple play on a special deal and I'm glad I bought it. The movie in blu-ray is just awesome. The effects are cool and the story line is not so bad either. As a whole it's entertaining. Looking forward to the sequel.
Nowadays, all movies are being converted to 3D. This reduces the quality of the story and increases the cheesiness of the 3D. The movie was not shot with 3D cameras (like Avatar or Prometheus). I wouldn't recommend the 3D version of Thor. However, Thor was far better than Captain America. Thor is a good introductory movie. It is a great for those not familiar with the character as well (like myself). Overall, this was well done but I suggest watching the normal version rather than 3D first.
I watched this movie and really enjoyed it… Im not really into spending time watching films but now I own this one I will certainly be watching this one over and over… Ready to watch some more Marvel movies now!
I love the Marvel series, Iron man, Hulk, Captain America all great, but out of the lot I liked Thor the most, has some great humour, epic action sequences and some excellent acting for a comic book movie, especially from the guy playing Loki. Great movie on its own, great pacing, and it isn't over done just to set up for avengers like Captain America was. If you like comic book movies, definitely get this.
…next to Iron Man. Hemsworth plays a surprisingly believable Thor, never making me doubt that he is – in all fact – the god of thunder.
If you're at all a fan of the genre, you need this movie – thoroughly enjoyable, well made, well acted, and it made me all the more amped for the upcoming Avengers title in 2012.
Finally an adaption that exceeds my expectations
Solid. Such a misleading word, but one that sums up Thor aptly. I can fault little of what's on screen. The action is good, sometimes even great. Visual effects likewise. Story and characterisation stand firm.
My problem with it is it “feels” really short. Like there's a good 20 mins of film that has been cut out to make the distributor happy. I noticed this when I saw it in the theatre and I feel the same way on Blu-Ray. It's that intangible “thing” that we notice the absence of, but can't say what it is.
That being said, I liked Thor more the second time around .. if only that we're now so close to The Avengers coming out.
