I was not able to put this book down for a second – the first few pages had me completely hooked. The story is about a teenager who is forced to compete in a 24-man-enter-1-man-leaves event. Suzanne Collins narrative here has an immediacy to it that, when combined with the very dramatic life or death plot, is incredibly compelling, entertaining and disturbing all at once. Some they say a great book leaves you changed after you read it… This book definitely did that. Suzanne Collins has, with one amazing effort, propelled herself onto my top shelf. I highly recommend book 2 in this trilogy – Catching Fire.

I can definately understand where Stephanie Meyer is coming from, this book was fantastic. Really enjoyed it and its an easy book to read.
A cunningly craft book. A world sensation. This book is a must read for all ages, it's the kind of book that you can't put it down once you start reading.
The is actually a book you will not want to put down, from cover to cover you will be drawn into the world and lives of the citizens of District 12 and the Captial and teenagers battle for their lives. Absolutely captivating. The best part is it's the start of a series so plenty more of where this came from. 5+ stars
This was such a good buy, I read it for three days straight, honestly couldn't put it down. The movie is being made soon, I really recommend reading it. You won't be disappointed!!
Simply put this is, to date, the best book I have ever read, closely followed by the other 2 books in this trilogy
Normally I would not have gone near this book! But after hearing the raving reviews I thought I would give it a shot. Boy am I glad I did! This book is now one of my all time favourite books. Its so vivid and plausible! I also see that it's being made into a movie, which will be something to look forward to. I did not want it to end and have been making my poor friends read it. They all love it. People of all ages can enjoy this wonderful book, I'm 20 and absolutely adored it. Give it a shot, even if it doesn't sound like your cup of tea, you won't regret it.
