Sacred 2: Fallen Angel reviews

If you like dungeon hacks, you'll definitely enjoy Sacred 2. 360 owners have been a little starved of this genre but Sacred 2 definitely delivers an enjoyable action RPG experience in the vein of Diablo 2 and Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance.

The game itself is absolutely enormous. In my first play-through, I completed around 40% of the sidequests, explored less than 30% of the map, and still clocked in at over 30 hours. It sort of feels like this depth has come at the expense of the main storyline – which is fairly unexciting – but frankly for a game of this type I much prefer the high replay value. Even if it does include a lot of fetch quests, and the occasional annoying ‘escort’ quest (when will they realise?!).

You do need to invest some time to get to grips with the reasonably complex character development system. Even on the easiest difficulty, I was struggling later in the game because of some poor character development choices earlier on. Ultimately though, planning and developing an uber-character is part of the fun of a game like this, and with 5 different characters each with 3 different aspects that can be emphasised (or not) the character build possibilities are pretty vast.

Other than that, all the other characteristics of a good dungeon-hack are present: hordes of respawning enemies, a huge range of randomly generated items (and a select few unique ones), some very tongue-in-cheek in-jokes and a simple but effective (and flexible) control scheme.

I did get the odd glitch but overall this is well worth the investment if you enjoy a bit of hack and slash.

Hey i just got this game. OMG it is so cool. the learning curve is a bit hard but after that you will have DAYS of fun. honestly days. thats how long it takes. this is a must get for all diablo fans alike. its like a mmo for xbox!!!! get it!! what are you waiting for?

I purchased this game at release on Xbox and it is a great game overall. Reminds me of a Diablo kind of game, leveling up, choosing skills, getting new/rare gear from monsters and “elite” monsters. It is also couch co-op as well as online, so that was a good selling point for me. So if you like those kind of games, this is a definite play. It is a truly fun game that kept me occupied for hours. Hours of storyline and sidequests and of course 6 different kinds of classes to play with different playstyles.

HOWEVER this is a WARNING, just be aware, that both the Ps3 and Xbox versions of this game are BROKEN. There are a quite a few skills that dont work as intended(not in a good take advantage sort of way either) and the whole Blacksmith Art does not work at all! The saddest thing though, the developers have said they will not be patching or fixing the game as they are focusing on the PC version.

Actually, I should clarify. The developers Ascaron went Bankrupt and the company that took over decided they would not fix/support the console games as they would be focusing on the PC version(which got an expansion too :( )

So there ya have it, a great game overall, but if you want to enjoy it the most, buy it on PC where it actually works properly. If you don't have that option, you can buy it on console, just DONT buy it brand new unless its discounted :P

Giving it a 4 out of 5 because its still a great game, just without support the console versions(Ps3 and Xbox) are a disappointment with broken skills and no blacksmith art at all…I cant believe they didnt at least fix that…i mean its one of the main General Skills! :P

If you love Role Playing games then this is it, a huge world to explore, many weapons to choose from, awesome characters. What great fun my son has had playing this awesome game, he plays for hours an hours, never seems to tire of it. He loves the endless opportunities this game keeps offering.

The online community is not the greatest, but it is still one great hacknslash rpg.
I must have spent 20 extra very unnecessarty hours worth of gameplay looking for a random unique item such is the addictive nature of trying to create an ultimate character.

has many characters to choose from, so many skills to define your style of character, very big map to walk around on, achievement points easy to get and most importantly a co op game.
