Simply Awesome, get it, stop reading and just buy it, Mass Effect 2 is like an epic interactive movie. PS3 owners now get to see what the fuss is about on their own console. Mass Effect 2 runs an even balance between ease of play and RPG. It still retains a lot of RPG elements, character levelling, weapon & armour upgrades etc, but the game design makes it a seemless interaction. The amount of background data within the game is phenomenal, and its not even necessary to read it but its there anyway, planet data, character profiles, racial profiles, the production behind this is staggering.

The graphics are awesome and maintained throughout the entire game, no change of style just awesome visuals all the way, through with superb audio and voice acting.

The game is a trilogy, unfortunately PS3 owners only get to experience the first game as an interactive comic within Mass Effect 2, that gets you to choose key moments from Mass Effect 1 to help fill-out your characters decisions with this game. Choices you make within Mass Effect 2 will affect the last in the trilogy out in November this year… So dont delete your savegames.

Mass Effect 2 is a Sci-Fi epic that makes the players choices have consequences within the game, which gives the player a feeling of real investment in time and gameplay (prepare to lose a lot of your life playing this game)

Get it, play it, finish it, and then wait impatiently for Mass Effect 3 :-)

This game is amazing, great graphics, interesting game mechanics, and one of the most amazing stories i've seen in a game. PS. The graphics are better on the ps3 version compared to the xbox, the lighting is better and the game is smoother.

If like me you have never played Mass Effect, don't worry, you will love Mass Effect 2. It is without a doubt the best RPG I have played in many a year. It might be a little short for an RPG (40–50 hours) but due to its incredible amount of choices and effects, it really does offer a plethora of replay value.

Incredible game that should not be missed.

I'm not really fond of first-person-shooter games but Mass Effect 2 is great! Good graphics, easy gameplay, lots of in-game-choices and fun. Can't wait for Mass Effect 3. Thanks for bringing this to PS3!

The game is just divine when it comes to the smoothness of the combat system and the beauty of the various galaxies the game takes you is absolutely stunning. The characters for the story are not only live-looking but also perfect in every detail imaginable.

The story revolves around gathering your crew to fight against humanity's biggest threat and helping each of them with their ‘skeletons in the closet’ allows you gain their trust. The storyline is probably one of the best the PS3 gaming world has to offer. Choosing your character from either male or female makes for newer and ‘interesting’ twists in the storyline and is a must for all PS3 gamers.

This a game that every PS3 owner must have not only for the storyline but also the the way the combat system is designed perfectly for the PS3 console. The graphics and characters are to die for and probably one of the most impressive games the PS3 has to date.

You are missing something if you don't have Mass Effect 2 part of your PS3 collection.

I personally think that Mass Effect 2 is the best game in the entire Trilogy! It adds new gameplay mechanics that make facing enemies slightly more difficult, importing your save from ME1 can change some of what occurs in the second game.

In this game, you gather up to 12 different companions(2 from DLC which are included in the PS3 Version), each one is unique, has their own stories and many of them are romance-able. Each character has a special mission you can explore in order to see depth in each character and how you act on the mission can determine how loyal they are to you.

You will see familiar faces if you are a person whose played the first Mass Effect, which will make it even harder to realise your actions have a big impact on what happens to them, in the end, your choices will determine whether your story continues or ends.

Bought for my brother who thoroughly enjoyed it!

Over all I have sunk over 100 hours into this game and played through it 3 times. The story is just beautiful, You feel for the characters. The Action and game play is (at times) clunky but other wise smooth. Very repetitive but not boring. I view the action as the “shooty bits” between the story. My favorite part was actually flying around the galaxy and exploring the solar systems, though most planets you cant visit they are beautiful and alluring in their own right. A must have 9.3/10

Amazing game. Total fan of the series. I've played the first and second one on PC already, but on PS3 the second one is even better. It was sadly intended as a console game and one can really see that. On computer the first one was sooo much better than the second, but on console it feels just great to play the second one. Still the same old Mass Effect how we love it. Unfortunately there is no first part for PS3 because of some publishing right issues, but the tried to manage that with an interactive commic at the beginning of the game. It's not the same, but at least one has a chance to still make decisions, that really will impact later on. Besides that no downside. A must have for everyone. No matter what you play. If PS3, PC or Xbox360.

Excellent storyline and fantastic charachter development

This is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a story-driven RPG Epic, with the added bonus of having 3 of the 4 large DLC packs included on the disc (the 4th, Arrival, is available for download from the PSN.)

The disc includes the original Mass Effect 2 game, 3 story-based DLC packs (Overlord, Kasumi's Memories and lair of the Shadow Broker), a voucher for the Cerberus Network (BioWare's online pass system, which unlocks an extra character and mission.)

One other bonus with the PS3 version is that it comes with an animated digital comic, from Dark Horse Comics, which not only recaps the events of the first Mass Effect game (which was not released on the PS3) but it also allows you to make decisions throughout, that can alter the way the story unfolds during your playthrough of Mass Effect 2.

The character that you build in Mass Effect 2 can not only be carried through multiple playthroughs of the game, but can also be transferred into the upcoming finale Mass Effect 3, to continue on and finish the fight against the Reapers.

Overall, a great value game from one of the Game Studios of this generation. Definitely worth the purchase.

Just finished Mass Effect 2 the other day, and considering giving it another run through. Kept me out of trouble for 40 enjoyable hours. I hadn't played the first (not owning an X360) but picked up the back story pretty quickly so don't worry about missing out on what happened in the last game. Entirely engrossing story and a good range of weapons. If you don't already have this game, you should get it.

Great game, the PS3 version is the definitive version as it has all the DLC (apart from arrival and weapon / armour DLC), a great and immersive story, solid gameplay and runs on the Mass Effect 3 graphics engine

Honestly this game has it all

Story telling is second to none

You decide who your character is/how they react throughout the game

Blast the hell out of copious amounts of aliens (and humans)

Or literally spend hours just reading through the amazingly detailed in-game lore and back story.

Bioware has created one of the most immersive, expansive, and engaging sci-fi universes I've ever encountered. Just play it, honestly you won't regret it.

Having said that, you will want to play Mass Effect 1 before playing ME2, and unfortunately it's not available on the PS3. The comic book gives you a decent intro to the story so far (and is great for starting a new character), but you will miss out on so much if you skip the 1st game.

And be warned, this game is long. I clocked up over 50hours on the first play through. You could rush through just doing the main missions, but you'd miss so much. Be prepared to invest some serious time into this game if you really want to enjoy it.

Mind blowing

I'm not much of a Sci-Fi lover, but when I installed Mass Effect 2, I've played it non-stop for 15 hours only to stop now to give it a review. Bioware has blown me away with the quality of the game – The storyline, the Unreal engine and the overall character of the game really bring it to life and the ability to alter the game with your choices allows you to replay the game over and over and end up in different situations.

Mass Effect 2 really is a game that you'll never expect to blow your mind, as it did to me. It's awesome playing this game, and I'll be sure to buy Mass Effect 1 and 3 to continue the series.

After reading the rave reviews for the X360 versions of Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, I was looking forward to getting to play ME2 on PS3. Without going into too much detail, I'd rate the game as very good, but not worth the rave reviews it's received. My issue is that there just isn't much to encourage exploration – side missions gained from scanning planets are generally dull and vastly inferior to the main storyline. This game definitely falls on the “action” side of the action rpg genre.

Point to point wonder is one way to describe this game. I am a long time RPG player since the 1990's and it is nice to see one with a good level of polish. Not only do you get wonderful game play on missions the game has so many dimentions its not funny! from flying around space, flying on planets, Engaging in the fire fights, Building your character, researching upgrades, mining to resources. You name it this game offers it A+ from B0NDIE I will buy from the series again without hesitation.

If you loved the 1st game (if you have a xbox or played it on computer) this is guna blow you away, so much content, action, brilliant storyline, leveling system improved and perfected. The game is shorter the the 1st one but makes up for with tonnes of content, plus PS3 version get 6 extra hours of bonus missions and add ons (YAY go playstation) This is a must for your collection :D

I have never played the original Mass Effect, but thanks to the interactive comic that comes with the PS3 version I didn't have to worry about missing out on anything important from the first game. The gameplay is fantastic and you have so many different conversation options that I've had to play through twice just to see all the different events I could trigger. I normally don't like 3rd person shooters but since this game was made by Bioware I had to give it a try and I wsan't disappointed. The PS3 version also comes with the extra downloadable content that was released for free, so you get an extra 6 hours of gaming for free!! Highly recommended:)

Wow, I passed big time on Mass Effect since it was xbox only. So I decided the game sucks, hehe. But now that it's released on PS3 I bought it and don't regret a single cent spent. This game is amazing. Story, action, space, aliens, guns, girls. Heck, what more can you possibly ask for?

Being a Playstation owner from the start I've never experienced Mass Effect on another system, but I'm glad to say that this version for the PS3 is brilliant. Basically a third person shooter with some rpg elements, the game has you flying across the galaxy helping out the shadowy ‘Cerberus’ organisation, along the way recruiting members of your team to take down the ‘Collectors’. All the usual Bioware touches are there – great dialogue, interesting locations and the ability to start a relationship with one of your crew. The PS3 version comes with a lot of extra content too to make it even more enticing.

Epic game get it down ya!!
