LittleBigPlanet (Platinum) previews

Definitely the most age irrelevant game available on the PS3. I've shared this game with age groups spanning from 17 to 41 and recently with a 7 year old. The “oldies” were a bit hesitant at first and within 15–20 minutes were right in to it (all being long-time gamers themselves). I got in ‘trouble’ with the parents of the child as she wouldn't shut up about it. :-)

I believe this to be the most sofa friendly multi-player game available on the PS3 at the moment. By that I mean that there are not many good games on the PS3 where you can have four people sitting down all playing at the same time and interacting with each other. The main difference here is that you all share the one screen rather than having a split-screen configuration – much easier on the eyes.

Definitely well worth the purchase for both young and old.

Been playing the BETA, and the game is everything you've heard it will be, creative, innovative and really fun.

Best thing about it is just coming up with an idea, then spending hours trying to get whats in your mind on the screen, and working the way you want it to. You can explore other peoples work in a really simple way which means endless hours of fun.

It sounds cheesy to say but the possibilities really are limitless, unmatched replay value and what looks to be a strong community, even for the BETA phase.

All in all, good times. Buy it, you won't regret it.

This is not a game to be missed. I've been playing the beta for the last three days and it is an amazing game. First off it's so creative, witty and original that it's a breath of fresh air in a stagnant gaming industry. It's incredibly funny with Stephen Fry's ever awesome narration and creating anything you want is a possibility, heck I was even playing LBP version of Wipeout HD on there XD, anything is possible. If you own a PS3 you NEED this game, don't think, buy.

LittleBigPlanet was nominated for 10 awards in the Interactive Achievement awards, and won 8 of them including ‘overall game of the year’ even beating out Fallout 3 in most categories which is massive because of how unbelieveably awesome fallout 3 is… LBP offers hours upon serious freaking hours of entertainment, play it with mates, family or you partner and it is a just a great bonding experience (plus you can let out some anger by tricking eachother ;D) this game is definitely worth the price and then some, the online play has come a LONG way since release and adds at least a year of extra playable content on to the production issued stuff… and with DLC released consistantly, theres always something new

The PS3 system seller Little Big Planet is out on 24th October; there has been a lot of noise made about this game for over 18 months and what's exciting for us gamers is that the people in the press who get to see it every now and then as it's being developed and get hands on time with it are still really excited about what this huge game can do. The game has 50 or more levels to play through in single player or on line with upto 4 players, plus, what has got most of the attention about LBP is that the tools that were used to create the levels are also available to all us gamers! You can create your own levels and publish them for everyone else to use.

If you own a PS3 and you like having a laugh and fun playing games with your friends, buy Little Big Planet.

I was hesitant to buy this game because I knew I wouldn't use the level creation features much. But the first time I played it I was hooked in seconds.

The visuals, the music, the movement, everything feels really polished. The main story mode is fun, and there's a heap of content already created by other players that you can jump straight into.

The best thing about it though, is the multiplayer. Just fire up some extra controllers and you can have up to 4 people playing at the same time on the same screen. The special 2-person puzzles scattered around the story levels allow even a total newbie to help out :).

Overall it's a game I'd recommend to anyone, but especially those looking for a nice social game for their PS3.

This game is a must have if you have a ps3! It never gets old because of all the user created levels that are online! I think this game is going to have a cult following! I think it will get a 9.0 or above from IGN when it's reviewed. I would be money on it!

This is such an original and completely stunning game with weeks and weeks of fun.

Not only does this game have an awesome story mode full of tricky puzzles and obstacles, but a vast and limitless creative mode where you can let loose just about anything from your imagination.

Online this game is also just as amazing where you can share, play and communicate with everyone in the little big planet community.

I think LBP is great for every type of multiplayer mode including local because the game is so different and unique in a way that will attract gamers of all ages not to mention that it's really addictive.

The best feature of LBP is its player customization it is so vast and is a great way to express your personality to the rest of the LBP community or just have a bit of a laugh with.

I think all of these factors make this game one of the best for the PS3 to date so people humming and haring over buying this game must buy this game now!!!

Best graphics, best gameplay, unlimited replay value. My brothers love how the physics works they ride the same skate board down the same hill over and over again without even going online and playing the 10s of thousands of levels there. Not to forget DLC is insane with a free costume every week and this Tuesday they're releasing a MGS level pack with 5 levels and the addition of 92 stickers and the paintinator gun. Yaaaaaaaay.

This is going to be a must buy for any gamer. IGN has given it a rating of 9.5, and if u don't own a PS3, then u need to. Simple as that.

The tools are only limited to your imagination/cre­ativity, ive seen some absolutely amazing levels online, a good craftsman never blames his tools i believe.

If there is any game i would tell anyone to buy for their ps3 it would be this one, trophy support and completing all the levels 100% WITHOUT dieing is a great challenge and has given me the best time i've ever had on my ps3 so far.

Playing on a level with 3 other random people online provides an excellent twist if you're bored of attempting to do a level, and the amount of user created content is absolutely insane, i've already played over 100 online levels, a lot of which are even larger and more challenging than the original authors levels

I had heard this was a good game from online reviews but I was a little hesitant in purchasing it, so off to the video store I went to hire it out and it impressed me so much that I knew I just had to buy it!

The game starts off a little slow, but don't let this deter you! After the third level you start to get a good grip of the game mechanics and your of jumping, ducking, running, grabbing, racing, laughing your way to the finish.

I highly recommend you play this game with other players, one player is fun but multi-player is where you get the most enjoyment. I'm actually at the point where I wont progress to any more levels unless my 3 other friends are there with me. But that doesn't mean I still can't play the game because there's the entire ‘Create a Level’ side of the game thats kept me occupied for hours and hours!

If you're like me and first hesitated on buying his game I suggest throwing that caution to the wind because this is one PS3 purchase you will not regret!

This is a game that you will be playing for months. Little big planet has an excellent music score and narration and an enormous customization and creativity potential.

Little Big Planet allows You to make your own levels and then you can upload your level to the internet, so everyone can play it!

I was worried it would be quite simple games as its basically a platformer but this was squashed after i saw people making large complex systems, rockets, cars, traps, calcuators, protecting a box, sonic, boss battles, Mario, metal gear solid and grand theft auto levels it'll be hard to get bored!

I hadn't preordered this game but now i have, this game is perfect for anyone girls guys kids adults, you need this game, if any parents are reading this looking for ideas this is the game! its recieving perfect scores all round and is the only game that seems not for the Wii and that isn't a shooter!

Great game!!! Had heard a lot about it before purchasing it, and wasn't disappointed. The single player levels are a lot of fun…and you can't help going back to play them again to find those last few objects. Have just started creating some levels, and that is very easy to do. Well worth buying!!!

LittleBigPlanet has undoubtedly been one of the most anticipated games of the whole lifetime of the PS3. And now that it's out what is the verdict? Well you just can't sum it up in one simple word because there is just so much more inside of this cute packaged game.

The gameplay is like a mix between the old school platformers, many creative (seriously, some are great) puzzle elements, and… I just don't know how to describe it really… Ok each level set is based on a different part of the world (or style of something) and each level set has it's own different style of gameplay. Take the Japanese world for example, you need fast reactions and wits to survive that compared to the Indian world which is just damn confusing and you really just have to be amazed. There's even a chase level where your being chased by a freaking giant undead Godzilla like thing that fills half the screen!!

The controls for this game are pretty tight, but only once you figure them out. Now by figure out I don't mean it has thousands of buttons to remember, quite the contrary, it has about two. By figure out I mean learn your limits with how far you can jump, heightwise and lengthwise and use those to your advantage for jumping challenges! Which you'll struggle on the first few times.

The world of LittleBigPlanet is undoubtedly cute and you'll grow to love your little SackBoy. As you go through levels you'll find bubbles that are filled with new things for you to customize your SackBoy with. There are thousands of these items and the wealth of customization is just brilliant.

The level maker is another just brilliant contraption in this huge huge game. It takes a (very very very very very) long time to get into it, but once you do your given the freedom to create whatever you please! As long as you can be bothered. xD Levels do take very long to make, but masters of it will enjoy the experience and ultimately love their finished creations, which by the way can be shared all around the world.

If you're still wondering that same though ‘I don't get it…’ then think so more and buy this game. Sure you may be a FPS enthusiast, or maybe just a hardcore RPG gamer but this game is something that offers something different for once, something fresh, and ultimately rewarding.

To begin with, when I first heard of the game, I had no interest whatsoever. Then hearing more about it made me think it was stupider, I was a big enough twat to say side scrollers were lame on a forum, but I was wrong.

After playing it at my friends house, I decided to get it for my birthday which I do not regret. Its one of those games that once your into it, it sucks your full attention for a long time whether you are creating your masterpiece or playing story levels. It was originally a PSN game and was originally designed to have only one plane, but after Sony's eye caught its attention, the game become what we know of it today.

To begin, the story levels is actually one of the best part of the game. I found it extremely exciting and rewarding to find all prize bubbles and at times frustrating to ace them. The story levels are extremely innovative and fun, which is the main thing, the developers have created inspiration levels that demonstrate good use of in game tools and possible combinations to be explored. They are rather short but the game intends you to replay the level with more players to unlock certain prizes or to get prizes by using switches recovered in later levels. Mixed with bosses, vehicles its all extremely entertaining. I found having survival challenges were extremely fun also, the levels have different themes and challenges making the levels feel fresh.

The level creation mode is extremely slick also, it does take a bit to get used to because it is somewhat complicated, but as it turns out, its a good thing as you will be amazed what you can create with a set number of tools. Making a level can be rewarding if good feedback is given and if this is your cup of tea, you'll love it. However, people that aren't that interested in creating will be missing out on a very large part of the game, but also will still have plenty of content to enjoy. The mode is really as much as you make it.

The community part of the game is great, here you can play levels created by other players and at the front of the page, being the most popular. This part of the game makes it have extremely good re playability. Levels are created every day which mean endless levels to play. If you thought the game couldn't get more creative, costumes can be mixed and matched, or even custom made with stickers and objects. You can also decorate your pod.

The graphics are slick, not top of the line at all and the game doesn't rely on this, but they are adequate. The game is presented well in a very unique artist style which Media Molecule has excelled in. Everything about the game oozes creativity, with customization of yourself, your levels and even your pod.

The sounds are great, although there is a small selection of sounds, I found them to set the mood well, choosing your own music and sound effects for your level are in depth and add dimension. The controls can be a little bitchy for some,they need some practice but once I got used to them, they were second nature. The largest problem is changing planes, the three 3D planes which change automatically at appropriate times. I also have to mention, its not a kids game, later on the game, the levels get extremely hard, not to mention acing them all is a tough challenge. I cannot imagine a 7 year old or even a 10 year old finishing the game. Also with the introduction of our good friend ‘Down loadable content’ there are always costumes, level kits and upgrades being made to Little Big Planet.

Overall, a great PS exclusive, I recommend definitely checking it out if you haven't. Worth the full price I paid for and I'm definitely not selling this game.

this is a game you will always want to play it never gets boring it has a really good single player mode and multiplayer mode and you even get to build levels and upload them online for others to play if you going to get a game get this one

Looks like it's going to be over hyped

This game is amazing for everyone. Even those who claim they will never play a console game in there life are hooked within minutes. The games graphics are awesome with a great soundtrack. Customisation and control of your sack man means gives added hours of fun. The creation mode and online community provides limitless amounts of play!

Every now and then a developer brings out an idea that sets new standards in regards to gaming. LittleBigPlanet has definitely set a whole new standard in regards to console gaming.

With one of the most deceptive covers, appearing to cater for a very young audience, this game becomes an addiction that is impossible to break. Superb graphics, an ingenious concept, enjoyable storyline are what awaits you.

What about once you've finished the storyline you say? Well then why not create your own stages with the seemingly unlimited amount of creative tools to use in almost any way imaginable. When you're done you can even load your stage up to the multiplayer network allowing people from all around the world to test your work. When you need new ideas, just play any of the thousands of player created levels available from around the world.

LittleBigPlanet sets a new precedent for platform style games; the stage creation side also unlocks a never ending amount of player created content which will keep the game exciting and new so it never ends up collecting dust at the bottom of your collection.

This is one of the best games lately. It has been out for a while but still is so great to play and is so much fun to play. I would suggest to anyone to get this game as it is quite cheap at the moment and anyone can play it.

Great game. The kind you can play many times whether it's just to try get 100% on every level or to play multiplayer. Even once you clock all the levels completely there are hundreds of user made levels online. A game that you will never get bored of. Highly recommended for all ages.

LittleBIGPlanet is a platforming game at heart, having 30 pre made levels, But as you play through them you unlock parts to make your own levels. The cute graphics and advanced physics engine make it one must own game on PS3! It has incredible value or money as you can connect to the internet and play your friends and strangers levels.

This game is awesome, very addictive and will keep you on the PS3 for hours on end, be expected to stay up till early hours of morning playing till your eyes are stinging from over tiredness – great game to help give up smoking as you wont wanna get off the controller!

Loved this game. I was wanting it for ages, when it first came out. Then finally brought it!.. Loved playing it. I find its the kind of game to play when your just chilling out and I have little patience while playing with games but on Little Big Planet I can hardly lose!

Love the graphics on this game it so awesome and the stuff I can do such as personalizing my own space its awesome. Its great for all ages.

This game will keep you entertained throughout its entire (although somewhat short) single player campaign. The single player part of this game is more about showing the player what can be done in the game, rather than the story itself. Its all fun and nothing is serious. Mastering the game (i.e collecting everything there is thats available), will test your patience, timing and hand-eye-coordination. Fun for the whole family.

On the outside, LittleBigPlanet looks like a decent platformer. Well I can confirm that it is! But the real bonus is after you have finished the games 5–10 hour pre-made levels. Using objects and stickers found in the levels you are able to make a level based on anything you could possibly think of. The only gripes I have with the games is the physics are sometimes too realistic (resulting in many unnecessary deaths) and some puzzles are mind numbingly hard.

Having just got the game today, i consider this game to be a lot of fun, but if you're buying this game and expecting a very easy game, think again, while it's not ridiculously hard, it is a reasonable challenge.

Some items you can see, but finding how to get them is not so easy. There are a great deal of secrets, and a number of things that can only be completed with at least 2 players. This is a very good game, definitely worth a purchase.
