I'll start by saying this game isn't perfect but if you're a Harry Potter fan, you'll love this game. The combat is amazing, easily changing between spells and combinations of spells to destroy enemies. Potions are useful but I find myself hardly using them unless its the Wiggenweld potion. Others may use them a lot. Graphics are beautiful in my opinion on performance mode at 60fps. I've not tried the fidelity 30fps mode, although with Ray tracing, it'll look amazing. Character creation is limited but does enough to fulfill my needs. There's plenty of clothing options. Gameplay is fun and keeps me wanting to come back for more. I've played 40 hours so far and there's more to do. If you really get into the world of Hogwarts and Harry Potter you'll notice many things that link to the movies.

I'll admit maybe I haven't given it much of a chance but for some reason the game really just didn't grip me. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and even that didn't make a difference. The game is undoubtedly gorgeous but I found myself yawning a lot of the time and forcing myself to keep playing. I'm still playing currently because I really do want to enjoy it but it's harder than it should be. It feels super fast paced and all the parts where I want to be immersed in, are the moments so so sped up. The arriving at hogwarts, the sorting hat, seeing my dorm room for the first time, and my actual classes went by in almost 2× speed and it didn't allow me to feel immersed in the world. This may be enjoyable for some people but it really wasn't for me. On another note, this may be a preference to some, but so much of the gameplay became endless voice lines where you end up reading ahead and skipping before the actual voices finish. If you have played genshin impact you'll know how this feels. As a majoritively story based singleplayer game I was hoping for more cinematics and they lost me there. The gameplay on the other hand is kind of fun, it's very ‘souls’ influenced, if you know what I mean by that, which is alright. It almost feels to easy, standing far away with a wand spamming your automatically aimed spells. I understand that I've kind of just ripped the game to shreds but if you are a Harry Potter fan I recommend you give it a go, it may just be my own preferences interfering and keep in mind this is just my own opinion of the game.
So much more fun than I expected…really enjoying playing this and the scope of the story mode is amazing. 20+ hours into it so far and heaps more to go!
I'm not a huge harry potter fan, but it's done in a way where you don't need to have any prior knowledge about the franchise – so still enjoyable for someone new! I love the side quests, the character creation, outfits and hairstyles, and of course the magic and open world that's perfect for exploring. I thought about buying this for the Switch, but with how good it looks on the PS5, I wouldn't bother lol
Hogwarts legacy is a below average game the combat is great so is the world but the story is not very good the making potions and planting uses real time to be made so if you want to spend 15 minutes waiting for a potion to be made then it better be worth it otherwise if your a hardcore fan you'll love it
First review I've ever done. Love gaming but really let down by this game. But it and once you get over the buzz of having an open world hogwarts game you'll see what I mean.
Not as good as I was expecting, no known characters yet which would have been nice, only starting to explore hogwarts freely now just over 2hrs into the game, starts off with a random adventure/quest prior to arrival. Disappointed the sorting hat doesnt have a few more questions and gives you 2 options strictly – it gives you 1 suggestion after 2 basic questions, but then you can choose your preference. Graphics are decent, couple of glitches but overall good. Love the massive exploration area. Producing spells should be more of an action movement thing rather than using buttons on control.

Playing this game a second time to enjoy the full experience more. Huge Harry Potter fan and this is a credit to the series after the original games. Great customisation and exploring the castle which is every fan’s dream. The downside is the storyline is a bit underwhelming and the NPCs and open world are pretty lifeless and unresponsive besides the basics.
