If you're a fan of turn based strategy and just happen to have a few bucks sitting around then this is a definate buy!
Ok the game suffers a few problems – The musical score is fairly week, the voice acting is quite hammy and the campaign difficulty levels are a bit up and down.
But overall its fun to play, has great graphics for a game of its age, has been well produced, seems fairly stable (no CTD bugs) and with the 2× included expansion packs offers alot of content.
Buy it!
This game will keep you repeating “just one more turn” until way past your bed time. At this price and including all the expansions, it represents such good value you should not turn it down.
The game also allows you to play offline without requiring a CD in the drive, making it even better to just pick up and play.
Great game.might be a bit old now but still a great game for a cheap price.It'll keep you going till HoM6 comes out.
Love it!, Ive been playing this series since Heroes 2 and can honestly say this is the best one yet.
Great game. Amazing graphics, but a bit more clunky to play than the aging heroes III. Still, way better than heroes iv. Enjoyable in multiplayer, though games can take quite some time to play.

I've played this series from HOMM I and without a doubt it is the BEST game in its genre. Simple in its execution and frustratingly difficult to master in some campaigns. For those who thought HOMM 4 meant the end of the series think again – the storyline in this version is tight and the gameplay flawless. I'm really looking forward to HOMM VI.
Amazing game that follows the HoMM way while adding features to keep it fresh. The gameplay has been updated and has speed up with numerous streamlining aspects. The Graphics and sounds are solid and I feel are still up to date for a 2010 game even if this was released in 2007.
Expansion wise, the tribes on the east (which is included in this park) is amazing in content, gameplay and everything you would expect. I would of gave this game a 5 star rating but unfortunately, the tech support and big bugs make it not a must have game. I know this was released before vista but not having working lan support is lazy. (between a vista and xp computers, it will not let you play together). However there is a online mode and everyone fav, hotseat to keep you busy.
There is a huge map editor, gameplay mods and a random map generator included with the game if case you get bored. (unlikey)
If your a fan of HoMM, you should pick this up. Great value for money.
i was really looking foward to this release and as a bonus it was only $25! it was good but not nearly as good as heroes of might and magic 3, and i would say on par with heroes of might and magic 4. the graphics are now 3D which makes it quite enjoyable. it was a good purchase
