This is probably the most buggy, unfinished ‘AAA’ game I've ever played. Had 2nd patch today (playing on PS5, so far 62gb patches), and it still crashes, is at times really slow, and sometimes looks like it's a PS3 game. Such a shame, as the Bladerunner-type world is great, and the story seems good, too. Wait 6 months, maybe more, and CDPR may have fixed it. Was not ready to be released.

It pains me to say this but I’d hold off until this has been patched. I’m playing on the PS5. World is great, characters, combat and vehicle handling is superb and fun. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced a game breaking bug that prevents me from progressing the main campaign, even after installing the 1.04 patch. I can do all the other side quests etc. And that’s great but I’m not able to play a game I paid for. It has so much potential but I’m just not able to access it. There are other immersion breaking bugs that are minor but a finished product shouldn’t have those especially that CDPR said “we’ll release it when it’s ready”. Avoid for now to dodge being disappointed and wait until it’s been patched for consoles. It’s not up to the polished standards that we had with the Witcher 3.
Even though I'm more of a Fantasy-loving girl, I was really looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077 since it was our beloved CDPR developing the game. Stickers, books, artprints etc in this edition really nice, however on my PS4 Slim the game runs like a PS3 era mashed potato that has been flung on the floor and trodden on by the dog. DO NOT buy Cyberpunk 2077 in it's current state. Even a UK friend on a PS5 says it isn't performing well & is trying to get a refund. As with the millions of other players affected by this huge disappointment, I'm gutted. Not all of us have, nor can afford, a NASA super-computer, especially after this horse-poop of a year. I just watched some YouTube videos (15/12/20) stating how CD have finally acknowledged their (blatant lies) mistakes with old gen consoles & big patches will be coming in Jan & another in Feb. If you can wait that long for a game they advertised since 2013 that ALL gens/systems would be able to play perfectly well. If I can play other AAA games like AC Valhalla, RDR2, God of War, etc, we should be able to play Cyberpunk 2077. Shame on you, CD, shame on your investors for pushing :-(
The game is great, but still not ready to be released yet. Too many bugs, and low frame rate on ps4.
The game has its bugs but the story is amazing
Originally I played Cyberpunk 2077 on PC when it released and with 90 hours of game time in my first play through, I can say I really enjoyed the game. I've been a big cdpr fan for a while now and I thought why not support them and purchase the game on PS4/PS5. I've encountered small graphical glitches while playing on PS5 but nothing game breaking. It actually runs pretty well although this is after many updates. Night City feels less alive as they have taken out many of the citizens and cars but for me this doesn't ruin the gameplay experience. Its look stunning for a ps4 game although I feel there's a bit of film grain even after turning it off in the settings. It's just as fun to play it on ps5 as it is on pc although the pc version is obviously better graphically. I recommend you give this game a chance and you won't regret it.
Great game. I give it five out of five.
Do not buy on PS4, unfortunately game looks terrible and runs terrible. Cannot progress any further through main story due to bugs.
Shown on pc this game can run good right now but currently dont bother buying it for base ps4 or xbox absolute scam nothing like trailers. Riddled with bugs and the game looks about half as good as it was made out to be.
The game does have some bugs but still a blast too play can't wait for future updates playing on ps4 for context.
I know the game has its bugs/issues – especially for those that only have a ps4, I would suggest – waiting for a ps5 and more bugs to be fixed, I have only played it for a while on the ps5 and have had no major problems so far, maybe a random npc walking into the ground, and a freeze on 1 of my times loading it, but other than that, the time that I have played it I have had fun, and look forward to more patches to come out to make it the game that it was meant to be. But for now I'd wait until either its got more patches or there are more ps5s around before you get it, but I am still rating it 5 stars
The new 1.04 patch addresses a lot of the issues from the day one patch. I could barely play it day one, the latest patch very playable and there is no crashing anymore, the frame-rate is good and the graphics are much improved, there is no blurry imaging anymore. Game being played on PS4Pro.
Despite all the haters its a f**king awesome game
Very addictive game, despite the bugs and features that were cut on release. My favourite game of 2020, possibly cos I didn't play more than 15 minutes of Ghost of Tsushima. Otherwise that might've been my game of the year. AI is a bit weak but so much to do and see!
Now yes, there is bugs. But bugs and glitches will no doubt get fixed and honestly, I've encountered 0 game breaking bugs myself at currently 50 hours of game time across two characters.(perhaps i'm lucky or, perhaps some people are exaggerating the severity of the games issues.) The game itself is a blast, its a fresh cybernetically enhanced take on the open world looter, shooter style of game and if the devs keep adding to it then there is no reason the game wont have a ton of longevity for the future. The only real gripe I have is that the story isn't as narratively flexible as they led us to believe (a lot of characters fates are set in stone and no amount of changes to your strategy can save them.) Although perhaps this too will be addressed in the future.
Simply broken maybe in a year itl be worth playing but right now its poor at best.
The art included in the day one edition is great, but the game is total trash.
I wish I didn't spend money on this, it looks like gta 3 and is a laggy buggy mess. If I could return it I would
Broken. Boring. Over marketed mess.
Ridiculously buggy.
This is an extremely buggy game. But even beyond that, it's just not good. The writing, game play and world are just not good. Do not buy.
The best thing about buying a physical copy is that you get the game without having to download in areas without internet. Right- LOL. 45 G day one patch which will take days to come down on country internet because CD Project Red can't be ballsed actually finishing a game before it ships. Awesome.
This game is pretty cool. Sure has a few glitches but nothing to get grumpy over or ask for refund it's a good game.
Played for over 30 hours now on a PS5, and the game plays fine, last patch helped the visuals and makes it playable on Pro. I'm really enjoying the game, and apart from the messed up number of crashes I'm not seeing alot of issues. Game play is good, and once you start skilling up the game opens up hugely. Just wish there was more connection in some of the missions outside the main ones.
My PS4 pro has crashed six times since I bought this on release. The issues far outweigh the good things about the game, which are few and far between when you realise how many things were promised that never eventuated.
Microsoft and Sony have even taken it off their digital stores. Hopefully the January and February patches that have been promised bring some more life back into the game.
My friend who has never played a First Person Shooter wanted this for Christmas so we could experience the glitches. After an 18 hour install/update we sat down on the sofa Christmas night to watch the fun. Upon completing the horribly ugly green/yellow character customization he began the game. 30 seconds in he paused to adjust the camera sensitivity and proceeded to get stuck in a menu. Never before have I whitnessed a game so broken it wouldn't let you unpause. Needless to say we got exactly what we wanted out of it. 10/10 buy at full price in it's current state.
Very disappointed. Never return games but this was a pretty easy decision. Bugs, choppy frame rates, just a loisy experience. It's a shame because there's quite a bit I like about the game, but in its current state I'd avoid. Wait for the big January/February patches and decide then I reckon.
I played The Witcher GOTY not that long ago and typically it would be right up my ally. But, it was STILL buggy and glitchy. I don’t know why it’s so acclaimed. Now CyberPunk 2077… Playing on PS5, started off fun, a bit disappointed in the graphics, obviously riddled with bugs just like The Witcher 3 but far worse. Then I had 4 game crashes in one night and finally had enough. Game has been returned. Wait 6 months to 1 year and try it if you really want to play it. It’s very hard to believe this was in development for 9 years.
On a positive note, Thank you Mighty ape for arranging the return so quickly and being so good about it.
The game doent run or look smooth on the ps4 wait for an ps5 update
Don’t buy it for your sake
0 stars. Do not buy this game unt it is fixed. And even then you should probably wait until the PS5 version.
Not worth it until they patch this, so many bugs and glitches
Sure, when the game works, there's probably some relatively okay storyline in there. However between the game crashing for no apparent reason, falling through the map, t-posing, suddenly getting thrown across the map, npc issues and really just every bug imaginable, the game is not in a playable condition right now. Maybe give it a little time for them to go back to the drawing board on this one, or give it a miss entirely.
I am sure this game will be amazing but at the moment (December 2020) it is not worth it. Don't buy it. Even Sony has removed the game from it's online store…
Don't buy unless it's cheap as. They stopped updating the game and it's still junky. Actually just spend your money on another game.
It was fixed eventually so after buying the digital version at launch this will never be opened. Great price so why not.
I waited and played the free upgrade PS5 version and really enjoyed it. The bugs were minimal and then story was engaging. Visuals were pretty amazing. Only took 20 months to get there
Updating my previous review from its launch days. It’s now everything I hoped it would be and a must buy since having the bugs ironed out and having a free PS5 upgrade. Immersive world with great combat and gameplay and an engaging narrative.

Bought this game when released and it was a mess, even when played on PS5. Now the proper PS5 patch has been released this game is now very much worth revisiting/trying out for the first time.
Even at launch I would give a 5 but now its just confirmed the 5
Good game. The expectations was greater thatn what it deliverers. Story is very short though. They could have done better.
Got blue screen all the time on PS4. Like playing for few hours, then u will def get blue screen
Don't buy the PS4 version, it's unplayble… The game stoped function 3 times in 8 hours playing. CDPR really need to put their shxt together…
Average not what excepted but alright if u like story games
Game runs poorly on console and graphically got nerfed into the ground beyond even it's original iteration. Do not waste your money.
I had high hopes for Cyberpunk… But it's just too buggy. And I'm running it on a PS5, and I still encounter serious bugs in missions which completely halt progress. And the game frequently crashes out to the home page, usually after a slightly long period of time, like an hour and a half. I persevered through a few patches, hoping for an improvement. But while old bugs get fixed, CDPR just introduce new ones. Have pretty much given up on it. Am waiting for something new to come along and will be trading it in.
A bit glitchy but I am sure I will enjoy it in time!
Save your money an wait until all of the issues are fixed. Waste of money paying for this game on day one. So many issues makes trying to play pointless. The company should be refunding people that paid for the day one release. They have been overseas. Sony even removed the game from the digital downloads. I fee ripped off. This game simply should not have been released on the PS4 until it was ready. Hugely disappointing.
Game is unfinished, yet finished
Purchased this for my PS5, then straight after I read the reviews and the huge trouble this game has had and that Sony was offering refunds. Regretted my purchase. The game is now collecting dust as I haven't bothered playing.
Game has a good story. Such a glitchy mess. I've been getting crashes basically every hour, this has still been happening as of 1.06. The AI is horrible. UI elements get stuck on screen until the game is reset.
Game is broken bugs galore .. Hopefully it gets fixed soon!
