"Visual & Auditory Delight"

I have both, Blu-ray and DVD of this movie, not only has the Blu-ray version been so well re-mastered but the added edition of all the behind the scenes makes this move a true “Must Have” for Sc-Fi buffs, what a step up for Blu-ray over the standard format of DVD. Colour rich environments and a soundtrack by Vangelis immerse you into the vision of Ridley Scott. You either love or loath this movie but Ridley Scott's futuristic adaptation of the book “Do androids dream of electric sheep” has made us (when originally made) think of the future, what would it be like?. Set in a rain soaked Los Angeles with monolithic skyscrapers reaching in to the dull night sky, the busy streets, the packed alley ways brings life and a realism to the where Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) a retired “Blade Runner” has been called upon to hunt down four replicants (Original movie says there were five) replicants are artificial humans.

"Superb re-issue of a timeless classic."

Having watched Bladerunner when it first hit the movies in the early 80's it has always been a favourite. The DVD final cut version was a big step up with 5.1 sound for the first time, but this Blu Ray version is simply superb. You would never believe that this was shot over 25 years ago, the colours are lush and the hi def detail just adds so much to make the experience like seeing it for the first time. I never realised Rachel's dress was blue, it always looked black to me in DVD. Little details like this give a feeling of realism. If you like Bladerunner, you will love it in Blu Ray!

"Stunning"
5 stars"

Ridley Scott is well knowen for his visual style when telling a story for the big screen and with his follow up to Alien he pulls out all the stops with Blade Runner. There have been 3 previous versions of the movie released but this is the directors vision of how he wanted the movie to be seen on its release. The 1080p transfer is stunning, the soundtrack remixed fills your entire room and Ridley Scotts attention to detail is incredible,an interesting note to finish,20th Century Fox is currently in talks with both Scott and a certain female actress about (yes believe it or not) returning to finish the Alien saga, one can only imagine should Scott have as much passion as he did for the original what he might serve up for the final chapter.

Finally a cut that makes sense and looks as good as it was intended from the begining. True 1080p makes the whole experience of Blade Runner a worthy addition to your Blu Ray collection.

Blade Runner is a science fiction masterpiece. Directed by the visionary Ridley Scott, and based on Philip K Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Harrison Ford takes you on an adventure through an intricate and enthralling, gritty postmodern society that will leave you dreaming of our future. Blade Runner is undoubtedly one of the greatest Science Fiction films ever made. A must have for any Sci-Fi geek.

Looking for the best version of Blade Runner on the market? Look no further! Comprised of the director's “final version” (which he stated is the best version, even over the “director's cut”) plus a bonus disc of special features, not to mention superb picture and sound…

The film has been given a full-bore restoration (complete with the original film elements scanned in at 4k archival resolution) and has clearly been rehabbed from the ground up, with a flawless print that has had all dirt and blemishes removed

Audio is a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround track (48kHz/16-bit), Vangelis' legendary score is fully immersive with select instruments often directed to specific channels instead of the whole thing sounding like sonic mush emanating only from the fronts

You won't be disappointed…
