"Great game for fans"

A well executed FPS that is fun to play. The Marine campaign is great to play at night in a dark room, as it has its scary moments confronting Aliens popping out of the darkness. The Predator campaign is really fun. You have all the weapons from the movies and can take down hoards of aliens at a time. The Alien campaign unfortunately is let down by controls as it is hard to transition to walls and ceilings without getting frustrated at times. If you are a fan of Aliens or Predator movies then this game is for you, has an original plot that fits into the universe and all the glorious sounds from the movie. The marine rifle sounds awesome! A really great game.

"Good game, but short..."
3 stars"

I really enjoyed this game. The graphics are okay and its pretty fun…and the variety of each campaign is good (especially being the Alien, its not every FPS you can climb up walls etc)

Im only giving it 3 stars due to the length of the game. I finished all three campaigns in only a few sessions of playing (maybe a day and a half total) and the multiplayer is pretty dead…so theres not a huge ammount of replay-ability.

Its not a bad game though. Its fun enough and pretty awesome for a fan of the franchises.

It gets pretty brutal at times, especially the predator campaign…E.g. ripping peoples heads off to use their eyes to open doors haha…

Worth checking out, but without the multiplayer cranking (i havent managed to have 1 full online game) probably not something you would want to spend a huge amount of money on.

"An absolute must have game!"
5 stars"

This is a fantastic title to own. Carries on the legacy of the previous AvP titles in every way and more. I was slightly skeptical due to the ways that Hollywood has perverted the AvP series, but this game was a pleasing surprise.

The opening sequence can be confusing if you choose to play the three races out of order. The game is definitely more realistic than the previous two titles in the way that playing as the Human really gives you a taste of what its like to be a meal. However much is left to be desired as several Aliens can still be taken on with nothing more than a pistol.

The NPC design is very well done, with unscripted deaths and the ability to provide actual assistance. If you help them, they will help you. If you let them die, then you are dead too.

It was slightly disappointing to see that for most of the game only Humans and Aliens were present with the predators making quick appearances, but this is quickly overcome by the Predator campaign.

The graphics in this game are fantastic, with a very clever use of shadow and dim light it creates an atmosphere of paranoia and fear.

All up a fantastic title. A must have for anyone that like the previous games, or enjoyed the original movies.

"Once Avid Fan, but no more."
2 stars"

Overall:

I have been very generous with my rating of 2 stars as in some aspects of the game it was ok.

Having played the original 2 AvP games on PC the PS3 version had a lot to live up to. I had heard other reviews that the controls were difficult and varied from the three different class types. For me that was never going to be an issue.

Lets start. I started as the predator (favourite class) as I was hoping that they had kept true to the original AvP, where the predator is a formidable adversary. I found the tutorial very dark and hard to see the Aliens, which made for an interesting few tries. I then realised that you have none of the 3 vision modes that you had in the original AvP games or movies (Predator, Alien and Thermal vision). What makes it worse was the fact that you only obtain thermal vision in the first mission. The only problem is that you end up facing some aliens and can not see them till it is too late.

The only other issue with the game was that it lacked all the weapons from the original games as well.

I didn't play any other classes as I lost a lot of interest in the game. After the few mishaps of the Predator class.

I found the Multiplayer aspect of the game somewhat slow and encumbrance.

Overall, very disappointed. This game had a lot of potential, and fell very short of the mark.

"Sci fi at its best "
5 stars"

This game has its birth place in the beginning of sci fi .playing as a blood thirsty alien noming those pesky humans from the shadows comes their never ending thirst.as a preaditor fighting for sport and honer with shining blades this hunter doesn't need shadows to hide.as a human survival the name caught in the middle of an age old feud being both game and livestock the human campain is the hardest but the most rewarding

"LOVE"
5 stars"

I was very surprised with how amazing this game was. I am definitely a fan of the Alien movies, but it isn't often that games adapted from movies are up to the level of standard that this one is. The graphics are fantastic and it has just the right mix of jump factor and gore factor. If you like games that give you a bit of a fright now and then and games with lots of gory dismemberment then this is the game for you!
