12-Step Sport Scholarship was created by a father who was trying to figure out a way to take personal control of his son's college recruiting process, rather than hope (or leave it up to a 3rd party) that some college coach would notice his son and offer him a chance to play in college. His main goal was to assist his son in getting into the best academic school possible. By speaking with high school and skill coaches who had placed players in college sport programs, interviewing parents who had student-athletes, and speaking with players themselves, the author was able to create a systematized approach to the college sports recruiting process. Initially, the book covers how student-athletes, parents, coaches, guidance counselors, and athletic directors can get a quick understanding of the process of how sports can be a springboard to getting into a great college and receiving financial assistance.
