A new year means a new look for one of our favourite Gorilla
Rigs, and as much as we loved the Razorback
look with the Raidmax Viper GX Mid Tower, science tells us that it's always
important to evolve.
We're sure many of you are already familiar with the NZXT
H440 Mid Tower , since we've featured it in such builds as the Mighty
Kong and our recent Christmas Gorilla Rig.
This sleek and minimal chassis is a bit of a departure from the typically
aggressive and angular look we love in our Razorback, but figured a
sophisticated look on the outside doesn't mean it can't be a savage animal on
the inside.

the bunch to be our new rig, and after much discussion The

A little while back, we got the chance to build a
Special Gaming Rig for Breast
Cancer Awareness – a gaming rig in what was at the time, a prototype pink
chassis – it turned out quite wonderful :) We loved the chassis so much when
the final version of the Raidmax
Scorpio V became available we wanted it for our own Gorilla
Gaming Rig.
When you welcome a new member into the Gorilla Rig family, you
have to give it a name and we can't just keep calling it The
? now can we! Thanks to our friends at Plantronics
Gaming we've got some awesome gaming gear up for grabs for those
that want to get in on the naming fun :)

Christmas is well underway and it's time for the technical elves to start
building our very special Christmas Gaming Rig!
It's going to be a White Christmas right here in NZ even more so for one
lucky monkey thanks to our friends at NZXT!
That's right, starting our build off is the gorgeous white NZXT
H440 Chassis. This stunning computer case sky-rocketed in
popularity to take the top selling mid tower type (it comes in black, green, red
and blue as well) at Mighty Ape shortly after its release earlier in the year
and it's pretty easy to see why!
The H440 features a doorless front panel made entirely of steel while a
large, full-view window reveals an interior specially engineered to make any
build seamless and beautiful. A stylish cover helps conceal cables from the
power supply and smart design helps builders create a top system with either air
or water cooling.

We've talked before about how cool the Mini
Tower is when it comes to building a rig, but we figured we'd show you just
how much power you can pack into such a little case.
Don't be fooled. The EVGA Hadron Air certainly looks the part of a micro
case, standing just over 30cm in height, but this little chassis has some bite
to it!
Typically we'd run through all the parts we used… but truth be told, there
were a lot of one-off items that we had to source in (which we absolutely don't
mind doing) so this rig is more than a little unconventional…

We're never content to simply sit idle with our Gorilla
Rigs… We always have to tinker with them. It doesn't seem that
long ago that we were celebrating the new and improved Little
Monkey, now here we are doing it again!
Now featuring stunning ASUS
R7 260X Direct CU II Graphics, the Little Monkey now pumps out
even more graphical goodness while being quieter than ever before! This is
thanks to the DirectCU II cooler which achieves 20% lower temps with twice the
dissipation area and 6X greater airflow then reference design.
This large graphics card also allowed us to use the awesome stability
brackets built into the Zalman Z3 chassis, making it safer to take to upcoming
gaming events like Ping Zero!
