I've been a long time fan of the X-com / UFO series. Be warned – this is not from the same producers and franchise as that series.

In 2002, an Eastern European group got license to create this game in parallel with the main UFO series. They have only recently finished in 2007.

Unfortunately the game is still painfully 2002 graphics and technology. It's so clunky and outdated it was deeply disappointing in comparison with the other recent UFO games. The game play is on par with the early UFO version 1 or 2… released five years too late.

The UFO games have always had an excellent balance of combat tactics and strategy combined with RTS research and resource management.

I very highly recommend diving deep into the UFO Aftermath/After­shock/Afterlig­ht series… even better – get the trilogy here on Mighty Ape!

But please, avoid this ‘clone’ game. Spend your money on something worth playing.

I would have a thought that this game would have improved over UFO 17 years ago, but it would seen not. The graphics are higher res but but much the same. I had high hopes for this game. It did not live up to them.

As per sentence, if you like the original X-Com Enemy Unknown and Terror of the deep then this game is the one for you
