When American businessman Wendell Armbruster goes to Italy to claim his father's body after a fatal car accident, he finds himself caught up in a seemingly endless procession of red tape - and the shock of finding out that his father had a mistress who also died in the crash. When the daughter of the mistress arrives to take her mother's body back to England, sparks fly.
